Pinkfresh Studio| November 2020 Essential Dies Release

Hello, Crafty Friends!

We made it to Friday! I know it has been a haul for some of us, so I am happy we have a chance to spend time together and get crafty! Today marks Pinkfresh Studio's November Essential Dies Release! You know those dies that add a little something extra special to your cards with what feels like minimal effort? Yes, those dies! And don't worry, I plan on throwing in a little stamping too, because well, I love getting inky.

First up in the lovely Diagonal Stitched Plaid. This plate is sure to add a fabulous impact either with inking to bring out the cross-hatching or all by itself. To create this card, I diecut the Diagonal Stitched Plaid onto an A2 piece of cardstock. I then used masking tape to mask off a portion of the card. Using ink blending brushes, I applied Tidal Pool and Aquamarine to my card base. The floral bouquet from the Just Because stamp/die set was stamped using Detail Black ink and then colored with both Copic markers and colored pencils. To draw attention to the inked panel, I used the coordinating Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to create a frame and as a reference for the floral bouquet. A sentiment, diecuts from the Leafy Branch die, and inky splatters complete this card.

My second card mixes two of my favorite design elements, geometric shapes and floral bouquets.

That's right, there is now a Nested Chevrons die to complement the Nested Chevrons stamp! Game on, fellow crafters! To create this card, I started by inking an A2 card panel with Mermaid Cove, Clementine, Peach Fuzz, and Mint dye inks. I used the Nested Chevons plate to diecut several chevron pieces from coordinating cardstock for my focal piece. An A2 scrap of vellum adhered on top of the inked card panel helps to diffuse the background while still allowing the geometric boldness of the panel to shine through. The floral bouquet uses the Modern Layered Floral stamp/die inked with Apricot, Persimmon, Mint and Medow dye inks. A sentiment completes this card.
