Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 3: The King is Born. Come, Let Us Adore Him.

Happy Wednesday Crafty Friends,

We are rounding the corner...Thursday's release day is almost here! Today, I am sharing the new Nativity stamps and dies from this release; and let me write, they are sure to please. Today's cards feature the Nativity Background stamp, The Very Best Gift, Follow the Star, A Savior, and Boughs & Berries Background stamp. Whew, that is a lot!

When I was first assigned the Nativity Background stamp, I was at a loss as to what to do. I know that I could have inked and stamped the solid background stamp and called it a day, but I was longing for something more. Having a crafty friend to talk things over with often sparks new creative ideas. Fellow Creative Team member, Noriko, suggested I stamp on acetate. I had not done that in a while, and to make matters worse, if I went in that direction, I only had a few sheets at my disposal. I needed to keep my mistakes to a minimum. To create this card, I started by first prepping the acetate surface. I washed the acetate in warm water and patted it dry to lessen the static cling. I then used  TE's gold embossing powder to emboss the image onto the acetate. Using the MISTI helped give a crisp impression. The background was an ink blend on Sugar Cube cardstock...Blueberry, Salt Water Taffy, Blue Corn, Lavender Glaze, and Potato Chip. I used the Follow the Star die to create the Bethlehem background. The sentiment on the embossed acetate, stamped with StazOn ink, was from The Very Best Gift stamp set. To assemble the card, the acetate which was larger than the horizontal A2 panel, I scored and wrapped around the night sky background. Before adhering, I used foam adhesive to adhere the Bethlehem diecut to the background. I then taped the entire completed panel to a horizontal Mocha A2 card base.

Card Supplies:

Card number two features a collection of Nativity dies--Follow the Star and A Savior is Born. To create this card, I diecut the images from Toffee and Olive and then layered the diecuts. The focal point is cut using the Label Stacklets 12, which was stamped tone-on-tone using Mulled Wine cardstock and ink. Twine and a gold glitter star completes this card.
