I hope 2020 finds you well and getting into your groove. I am not one for New Year's resolutions, too easy to break and set oneself up for failure. This year I have decided to use One Word to focus my experiences through. I have decided on delight, and I am excited to see where this One Word takes me in 2020. I would love to read how you are defining 2020.
So far, I am delighted and tickled to use the new masking stencils. Using these stencils has really stepped up my crafting game. Today, I am sharing two card projects featuring the new Hexagon Masking Stencil and the Flip the Lace stamp and die combination.
To create this card, I started by masking a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock using the larger Hexagon Masking Stencil. Once the area was masked, I used the dye ink colors Jelly Donut, Oreo, Blueberry, Blue Rasberry, Pineapple, and Blue Corn to create a starry night background. A few opaque white splatters, from my Gansai Tambi watercolor palette, worked perfectly as shining stars in the night sky. The TE Blender Brushes made blending easy and seamless as I transitioned from one color to the next. The phases of the moon used the Simply Stamped-Moon stamp along with Sea Salt, Earl Grey, and Poppy Seed dye inks. A heat embossed sentiment, wooden veneer stars, and a little heart completed this card.
My second card features the Flip the Lace stamp and coordinating die set. To create this card, I created a gatefold card and heat embossed the lace image onto the front flaps using TE's gold embossing powder. I then die cut the excess paper from the flaps. The floral bouquet, using the Fresh Picked Florals and the Double-ended Flag Stacklets, created a flap closure for the card base. A heat embossed sentiment completed this card.
