Today, I am sharing a card featuring the new Wave stencil from Scrapbook.com. Stencils are a very versatile tool in a crafter's toolbox and can be used in a variety of ways.
To create this card, I started by inking a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock using Sky Blue, Summer Shower, Seaside, and Storm dye inks from Pinkfresh Studio. The Hero Arts Layering Koi Fish was stamped in a pale grey and Peach Fuzz inks. I appreciate the look of no-line coloring with Copic markers and try to utilize opportunities to practice this skill. As I am a newbie, it took me about two hours to color the beautiful flowers from Altenew's Pin Sketched Flowers stamp and die set. Many crafters use either a pale grey ink or Antique Linen Distress Ink for this technique. I used my Polychromo colored pencils to apply additional shading to the leaves and petals. I find it is best to let the ink dry on the card panel before applying white embossing powder. Allowing the panel to dry lowers the chances of the color bleeding through and discoloring the embossed area. By applying embossed ink in a more random pattern, provides a sense of movement to the card panel. A sentiment and a few clear dots to mimic air bubbles completes this card.

As a nation, I am saddened by the state we find ourselves in. And the reality is that it will take us time to heal. Right now, I do not have the words to express all the emotions that I am feeling. However, I find myself seeking a moment of quiet for reflection and pondering how to move forward.
Today, I am sharing a card I made offering a "Paper Hug." I think we could use one right about now.
Making this card is a great way to use those scraps of paper we have in our craft rooms that we cannot let go of but are taking up precious real estate. To create this card, I took a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock and covered it with strips of Guava, Pink Champagne, Cookie Monster, and Pablano cardstock. I then Used the Collegiate Letters to diecut the word "Hug" from the panel. Using a We 'R Memory Keeps geometric 3D embossing folder, I added a little visual interest to the background panel. A heat embossed sentiment on vellum and a few paper airplanes complete this card.
There is a lot of work that needs to be done in the days and months ahead. Remember to pace yourself. Self-care is important, so set time limits for screen time, rest, listen, and lean into your communities. I am sending hugs to all my friends in the crafting community.

Today, I am sharing a funny Father's Day card. This card is perfect for my husband, who is forever slaying spiders for our eight year old. It doesn't matter place or time, you can hear our youngest calling, "Daddy, there is a spider. Please come take care of it!" And a few seconds later, my husband goes in search of the unwanted guest. This card is a tribute to my husband and his heroics for our son.
To create this card, I used Oreo dye ink to stencil a partial spiderweb onto Sugar Cube cardstock. I then stamped, Copic-colored and die cut the cute little monster hiding behind the Caps Lock-Dad, which is die cut from Blue Raspberry cardstock. The Sitting Pretty Halloween Accessories provide the perfect accents, spiders and spiderweb, both are die cut from Oreo cardstock. A sentiment completes this card.

Today, I am sharing a 3x3 Thank You card trio. If you are like me, there are never enough Thank You cards in your card stash. And while most of the time I am happy to create on the standard A2 canvas, it is nice to switch things up a bit. The 3x3 format allows me to create a beautiful card without a lot of extra fuss. Or in my case, the dreaded white space. I love clean and simple cards, but every time I try to create one I keep fiddling with it until there is not any white space left. A little creatively defeating. Oh, well. For this card set I am using the new to me, Sketched Blooms stamp set.

Each new year, brings with it an opportunity to contemplate our choices, reevaluate our priorities and set new goals. Taylored Expressions is making some new changes for the new year, too. It means the Creative Team will have new designer features to share with you, and hopefully encourage you to get into your craft rooms to create something beautiful with old favorites and new finds. Today, I am showcasing a card from our new series entitled 'Designer Choice.' I love the idea behind Designer Choice, because it allows me to go back and revisit a stamp and/or die I previously did not have an opportunity to fully explore. Seriously, even I have a TE 'new pile' stash that I am longing to create with.
The Noteworthy stamp set might be one that is easily overlooked. The stamps work well to create quick stationery note card gift sets, but is equally functional for stand alone cards. I love the medium-sized script font and pleasant sentiments featured in this set. To create this card, I paired the sentiment with the Fresh Florals stamp and coordinating die set, along with the Striped Background stamp for an elegant Thank You card. The striped background panel was die cut using the Stitched Square Stacklets and then die cut again (Stitched Circle Stacklets) to create a focal point for the sentiment. A bouquet of fresh flowers, Baker's Twine and inky splatters complete this card.
My second card also features a sentiment from the Noteworthy stamp set. I was on a roll, why stop?
I love this sentiment, because it reminds me that each one of us is a masterpiece. This card paired the Noteworthy set with the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate and A Life She Loved stamp and coordination die set. An A2 top-folding Sugar Cube card base was inked using Salt Water Taffy dye ink and embellished with a few inky splatters. The canvas for the sentiment uses Distress Oxide inks and the watercolor smooshing technique to add a bit of whimsy. The image featuring the jar of paintbrushes was stamped onto Copic-friendly paper, colored with Copic markers, and Ranger's Glossy Accents was added to create a glass effect.

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peak Day 2: Blessings to You Big Blooms Card Collection
Today, I am sharing with you two new additions to the Big Blooms Collection-Cabbage Rose and Hydrangea paired with Sentiment Stacker 2 die. I designed a boxed card collection that showcases the versatility of these products.
I think card box sets make wonderful Christmas gifts for loved one. The 'Blessings to You' card collection features the 'Be Still' sentiments, which are uplifting scripture verses.
All the goodies you have been eyeing all week are now available. Today, I am sharing with you my last two projects featuring: Iconic Wishes-Christmas, Merry Mail 2, Sweet Season and Santa and Friends.
