Today, I am sharing with you two new additions to the Big Blooms Collection-Cabbage Rose and Hydrangea paired with Sentiment Stacker 2 die. I designed a boxed card collection that showcases the versatility of these products.
I think card box sets make wonderful Christmas gifts for loved one. The 'Blessings to You' card collection features the 'Be Still' sentiments, which are uplifting scripture verses.
In designing this card collection, I wanted the Big Blooms stamps and sentiments from 'Be Still' to equally take center stage. In order to accomplish this, I inset the sentiments using the Sentiment Stacker 2 die. In this way the sentiment and stamped image can cohesively work together as a design element. Keeping the card bases black, helps to focus attention on the rich saturation of color for each bloom stamped image.
For the Big Blooms-Cabbage Rose, I applied a loose watercolor technique. I was not concerned with going outside the lines, but instead wanted to focus on the richness of the colors. If the colors seemed too muted, and without an adequate amount of shading, after the watercolored piece dried I applied light shading using Copic markers. A few gold flicked splatters add to the free movement of this card. Using vellum allows for the rose to be seen through the heat embossed sentiment.
The Big Blooms-Daisy were also designed using the same watercolor technique.
The Big Blooms-Hydrangea and Poinsettia use splashes of color as the focal point. Bold touches of color can make as big of an impact as a fully colored piece. To create these cards, I stamped the images using TE's Oreo hybrid ink onto Canson marker paper. Being careful to only color the areas I wanted highlighted around the sentiment, I then colored the image using an array of Copic markers. The sentiments for these cards are inlaid into the card panel. A few gold splatters complete the cards.

Stunning designs! And I really like the vibrancy of your coloring. I used Zigs. I think I'll color the Big Blooms with Distress Inks when I color them again.
