Today is the last day of Sneak Peek Week. Tomorrow is Release Day! Are you ready for Christmas? Do you have your stamp and die wishlist ready? I hope you have enjoyed the inspiration from the design team =)
Usually, I don't make craft projects for the holiday season, but I will write, making a classic Christmas Advent Calendar was a lot of fun. I made the Advent Calendar using the Matchbox die, Clearly Planned-Candy Cane Numbers (stamps and dies), and a few of my favorite Little Bits dies.
Once I picked out a color palette for my calendar, it was time to create and decorate each matchbox. A mix of the new Little Bits Angel and Dove, along with Christmas favorites: Santa Hat, Ice Skates, Reindeer and more made decorating each box easy and fun. The addition of Holiday Florals and Joy Script add to the festive flare of the matchboxes. The Clearly Planned-Candy Cane Numbers inked and stamped in Cherry Pop dye ink supply the finishing touch.
You can fill the matchbox with a variety of Christmas surprises. A few examples are: small dies or stamps, make-up, perfume, candy, a note with a fun memory inside (make Christmas cookies), and many more small items.
I attached my little boxes to miniature wreathes I hot glued together and sparingly added Christmas ephemera for a pop of color. A red bow provides a way to hang the finished Advent Calendar.
