Hello Crafty Friends,
Welcome back to day two of the Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Week. Today, I am sharing with you a Bible journaling page featuring Build A Scene Nativity and complementary dies and stamps.
I have been Bible journaling for a little over a year. I enjoy this form of worship, which combines both my love for the Lord and papercrafts. The first step in designing this page, was to create the night sky and tree bough. I used Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Evergreen Bough, Tumbled Glass, Black Soot, Squeezed Lemonade, and Picked Raspberry) combined with TE dye inks (Peapod, Sweet Basil, Mocha, and Toffee) to create the overlaid tree foliage. Next, the ornament scene was created using the Build A Scene Nativity dies. The surrounding figures are die cut from Oreo cardstock, while the manger is die cut from Dijon to highlight it. The sentiment 'Glory to the Newborn King' is from the Sing of the King stamp set. A star shining high above the manger completes this page.
The next project is a card featuring Simply Stamped - Christmas Trees.
I love the idea of the lone Christmas tree standing silently amidst the falling snow. To create the background, I used Distress Inks (Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass) to ink a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Sugar Cube cardstock. I then used clear embossing powder to heat emboss the falling snowflakes. The lone tree is framed by the elegant swirls from the Ornate Frame Cutting Plate. A sentiment embossed on vellum and a simple poinsettia flower complete this card.
