A new year provides a chance to reevaluate my creative space. I have a small space, so I like to make sure my craft room is well organized and functional. Scrapbook.com designed several organizational pieces called Craft Room Basics to help organize our creative spaces without taking a huge bite out of one's budget.
For me, it is the smaller items like A2 paper pads, ephemera, pocket/journaling cards, and washi tape that end up without a home and moving from one place to another in my craft room. However, I have used and modified the Craft Room basics to fit my crafting needs and corral these wandering items.
I love keeping inspiration close at hand and the 12 x12 Paper Holder is perfect for this. The In Her Studio magazine is one of my favorite magazines for creative inspiration from designers around the world. And the 12 x 12 storage keeps my magazines organized and in pristine condition.
I have had the Tonic Studio Tidy Caddy for years. I love being able to keep all of my favorite tools handy, but now it is even better. The Pocker Card Organizer fits into the large compartment perfectly and helps me to keep my liquid glue, Pops of Color, paper pads, and other tools handy. I REALLY love how every item has a space.
In addition to cardmaking, I love to dabble in scrapbook and pocket memory keeping. I use the Stadium Organizer with coordinating Tabbed Dividers to hold my pocket and journaling cards.
The Tall Sticker Organizer is wonderful for housing Thickers. However, I do not use Thickers in my crafting. Instead, I modified the organizer by creating risers out of styrofoam. I use this organizer to group together with my 6x6 paper pad collection with its coordinating ephemera and enamel dots.
And just in case you didn't know, the Craft Room Basics fit nicely into those colorful craft carts. This cart holds two (2) Large Stadiums, a 6 x 8 Paper Pad, and a Tall Skinny Stadium with room to spare.
Lastly, I love using the Medium Envelope Storage Pockets to hold the elements for my pocket pages. As I print my pictures, I place them in an envelope along with coordinating papers, ephemera, and other bits.

On My Desk| Scrapbook.com Cardstock Collection, Stencils and Craftroom Tools
Good morning, Crafty Friends!
Happy Friday! This weekend I will be carving out a little time in my craftroom to continue playing with goodies from Scrapbook.com. This month I am creating with the new color palettes from the Playful, Jewels, Roses, and other colorful collections. The new stencils provide a creative chance to try a few mixed media ideas. And I would love to see if I cannot do something interesting with the new acetate sheets from Scrapbook.com.

I came across this week's Moxie Fab World "Throwdown Challenge" and thought, "Hey, I can do that!" I love seeing what fellow crafters have on their crafting desks. Here is what is currently on my desk: a stack of cards I need to send out; and two, my latest Taylored Expressions's order.
By the time we moved back to the United States I had acquired a rolling tote along the way...even my husband said I needed to step up my crafting game. I stayed with the rolling tote and kitchen table as my craft space for another three years. In that time I did very little crafting...I wonder why.
The move to our current home provided me with something I did not have before, a wall in a basement. My sweet husband set-up my crafting space before he deployed knowing that just looking at all that pretty paper and cute embellishments would make me smile as a we counted down the days until his return.
The fact that I even have a space to call my own makes me smile. I now run downstairs and pull a sheet of paper or embellishments when inspiration hits me and I do not worry that the little hands of our boys will be looking for a new play toy (i.e Mommy's crafting tools). What I love most about my space is that it came together in peices. I found new ways to utilize things we had lying around (really packed in boxes from previous moves) to use in organizing my space. Old shelves that my husband had stained for the boys' room, but never installed, became my crafting shelf for my ribbon jar and scrapbooking magazines. I love my Clip It Up ribbon organizer that houses, yes my ribbon, but also my 6x6 scrapbook pads and other embellishments (stored in plasic, resuable curtain bags).
It is not that I do not want to brach out, but space is still at a premium, so I moved vertically. My husband installed my second favorite item in my craft space--a wall peg board. I love it because I literally hang everything on my peg board. I have a hanging paper organizer, which houses my paper kits, there are hooks for a variety of embellishments, punches and a bucket to contain my samples die cuts.
Lastly, I try to remain inspired by fellow crafters or just looking at some of my own work. I feel that as crafters we spend so much time and care making special items: cards, scrapbook pages or paper projects, and then tuck them away after we have completed our goal. I hung a wooden dowel that runs the width of my peg board. It is there that I hang my compeleted cards or projects for inspiration.
