You finally made it...Release Day! Wahoo! I hope you have enjoyed ogling all the fabulous creations using this month's holiday collection. Oh, so much crafty goodness, and yet so little time. However, I hope the amazing Taylored Expressions Creative Team has inspired you to get into your craft room and create a few holiday masterpieces of your own.
Today, I am sharing the By the Fireside-Holiday die set. If you know me, you know I am a HUGE fan of the Build A Scene Collections and the the new By the Fireside-Holiday is no exception. I can just imagine the endless possibilities of creating a festive mantel arrangement.
What I love most about any TE Build A Scene Collection is the versatility of mixing and matching dies that are already in my die collection and creating something new and fabulous. Last month, I used the By the Fireside to create a fall mantle arrangement. This month, Christmas.
To create this card, I started by die cutting my scene from various Taylored Expressions' cardstocks, Chocolate Truffle, Toffee, Buttercream, Woodgrain, Watermelon, Sweet Basil (my all-time favorite green), Poppyseed and Oreo. I like using pattern paper to add a little contrast, so I used a few different collections from My Minds Eye and American Crafts. Once I had the pieces die cut, it was time to assemble my card, working from the back to the front. The reindeer picture frame is from the Frame In Frame Cutting Plate, and makes a wonderful addition to the mantel. A little depth and dimension is added to the fireplace insert by dry embossing the Toffee cardstock with TE's Brick embossing folder. The use of Bazzill's gold foil paper adds a little sparkle to complete this festive, holiday card.
Thank you for stopping by, however the fun is not over. Stop by the Taylored Expressions Blog for more inspiration using the October release collection. Or, head over to the Taylored Expressions Store to bring a little holiday cheer to your doorstep.
Happy Crafting,
Keia

The layers here are FABULOUS! The rusticness of that background paper is the perfect design element to create the warmth to accent the cuteness of that fireplace.
