Taylored Expressions' Release Day...At The Cross, Easter

Happy Thursday Taylored Expressions Fans!

Finally, Release Day is here! Wow! How awesome is it to see all the amazing crafting goodies available for the month of February? Are you ready to jump in and start creating amazing Easter and spring themed cards for your family and friends? I know I am!

Today, I am showcasing a card I designed using the new At The Cross No. 3 die. It is a beautiful, elegant cross, and I fell in love with it when I saw it. My first thought was how to make the die the focal point of my card? I opted to do a mostly white card with a touch of color for added emphasis.

I love a chance to break out my Copic markers and try a new technique. Awhile ago, I spied a technique where you use Copic markers to mimic a stained glass effect. I knew the At The Cross No. 3 die was the perfect opportunity to try this technique. I started by die cutting my cross using Taylored Expressions' Sugar Cube cardstock. I then traced the die cut  image onto acetate paper and fussy cut the matching image. I adhered the two pieces together using my Zig glue pen. Once the cardstock and acetate paper were completely dry, I flipped it over and colored on the back using my Copic markers. I then die cut several leafy branches and cut them apart to create the feeling of greenery growing around the cross. I embossed the die cut pieces using the new Leafy Vine embossing folder for added texture and visual interest. A few die cut flowers and sentiment embossed on vellum from the Little Bits of Spring stamp set and my card was complete.

Thank you for visiting, crafty friends. For more information on the newly released products and to see more amazing projects from the fabulous Taylored Expressions' designers, head on over to the Taylored Expressions' blog. You will be glad you did!

Smiles,
