Happy Father's Day, crafty friends!!
I hope your day is off to an amazing start! I love making cards, but find masculine cards to be my creative nemesis. Seriously, there are only so many motorcycle and tool-inspired cards I can design for my hubby before we both have had enough. When I am feeling stuck, I often take a look at cards online for inspiration. Did a certain color palette catch my eye? What about the graphics? Or the concept? Something is bound to spark a bit of creativity and get my creative juices following. This year, I created an "I am a Super Dad" graphic card for Father's day and I am happy with the way it turned out, even the hand-drawn bit.

Today, I am sharing a card designed with the new Memorial Pocket Cards from Scrapbook.com. These cards feature the classic gold, white and black color palette with a celestial print and beautiful heartfelt sentiments. I find pocket cards to be perfect for both scrapbooking and for making beautiful cards.
When I am running low on time, but want to make a card that wows, I enjoy using pocket cards in my scrapbooking stash to create that special card. To create this card, I started by taking one of the 4x6 pocket card and diecutting it into a diamond shape using the Nesting Diamond die from Waffle Flower Crafts. I then paired this with one the beautiful 3x4 sentiment cards from the collection. To add layers and visual interest, I stamped, stenciled and diecut a floral bouquet using Pinkfresh Studio's Be Strong collection. To complete this card, I added a butterfly and a few dots of Pops of Color in Deep Blue.

As part of the celebration, I created this card featuring the Pops of Color. First, this card was inspired by an amazing artist I came across on Instagram, Josie Lewis. She makes the most gorgeous, colorfully chunky art that is a visual feast for the eyes. Seriously! No joke! You can find Josie's website (HERE ) and Instagram (HERE). Although I do not share Josie's flick of the wrist technique for layering, not to mention the same medium, I was interested in seeing if the Pops of Color could be used in a similar creative fashion. While not the same, I am happy with the results.
To create this card, I started by using Mint Tape to mask off a triangular area. I then applied the Pops of Color, in rainbow order, to an A2 sized piece of mixed media paper. I colored the fun dog image from the Wish Happiness stamp set from Colorado Craft Company and added a few more bits from the I Work for Watercolors set from Picket Fence Studios. A simple heat embossed sentiment completes this card.
