Hello fellow crafty fans!
Well it's day 2 and the Taylored Expressions Birthday Party is still going! Today's cards feature the new Backstory-Birthday Background and Party Pennants Background stamps. Can I get a "wahoo" for the background stamps in the craftroom?
You are in for a treat today. Background stamps are great for making quick and impressive cards for friends and loves ones.
To create this card, that has a little hidden surprise for the birthday individual, I cut and stamped an A2 Sugar Cube cardstock with Fruit Punch dye ink using the new Backstory-Birthday Background stamp. I did this twice and set the panels aside. I then stamped and cut another Sugar Cube cardstock panel using the Cutting Edge-Balloons stamp and die combination (previously released). The balloon panel was colored using Copic markers and colored pencils with the Hip Hip Hooray and Happy Birthday sentiments stamped in Oreo ink. Taking one of the Fruit Punch stamped panels, I then used the On the Right Track -Basics die set to create a slider mechanism for my balloon panel. Once I had all the pieces, I put my card together which revealed a surprise....

My second card uses the new Party Pennants Background stamp to create a color background paired with a little shaker happiness.
Using the Party Pennant background, I stamped and colored the image onto Sugar Cube cardstock. To add a little visual interest, I used the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate to die cut the entire panel and then put in back together. A birthday balloon, filled with shaker happiness completes this card. Happy Birthday, Hot Stuff!
