Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1: Spooktacular Celebration

Happy Monday Taylored Expressions Fans and Crafty Friends,

It is that time again, Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Week! Yahoo! Go grab a cup of your favorite beverage and prepare to spend a little crafty time with the TE Creative Team.

Today, I am sharing the new TE Watercolor Panels-Halloween, Cutting Edge-Ghosts and a new edition to the mail collection, Spooky Mail.

To create the card, I did a double partial die cut on a side-folding, A2 Oreo card front. Once I had a card base, I used Post It tape to hold the Ghost Town Border die on the back panel of the card base and closed the card. This works perfectly, because an impression is left on the card front panel (after going through my die cut machine), which allowed for me to position the die at the correct height for the front panel. Using a set of smaller cutting plates, I positioned the Ghost Town Border on the card's front panel and die cut the image. Using a craft knife, I was able to cut away any pieces that were still attached. Next, I stamped the ghost scene onto a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock, die cut the image and colored with Copic markers. I then stamped the ghost image onto masking paper so that I could add a stenciled background using the new Spider Web stencil and Oreo hybrid ink. The word BOO was die cut several times from Sugar Cube cardstock and masked with Post It tape to achieve the Jelly Donut gradient. A sentiment and bats from the Haunted Accessories dies complete card.

To create the matching spooky envelope, I used the new Spooky Mail stamp along with Mum's the Word. I stamped my images onto a Sugar Cube envelope and colored with Faber Castell's Polychomos. I then masked the colored images and sponged on a spider web background using the Spider Web stencil and Oreo hybrid ink.

The TE watercolor panels are a great way to create a fun, fast card while enjoying a fun creative medium. To create these cards, I used TE's new Liquid Watercolors and a few Halloween favorites from past releases.

The first card features a shaker background using the Spider Web Cutting Plate and Build A Scene Halloween sequins, paired with the Label Stacklets 11. The second card, Happy Halloween, features a shaker element using the new Candy Shoppe die set. A little twine and a vibrant Halloween color palette complete these cards.

Thank you for stopping by. However, the fun is not over. Hop over to the Taylored Expressions blog HERE, and enjoy more creative inspiration from the Creative Team. And as with every release, answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a fabulous gift from the August release!
