Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1: What! Some of My Best Friends Are Flakes!

Happy October TE Fans,

I cannot believe we are approaching Christmas! I live in a state where the average high is around 83 degrees every day! I need a few snow flurries in my life. It's too HOT!  The new Taylored Expressions release will put us all in the Christmas mood, even if the clothing ensemble is a pair of shorts, tank top and flip flops.

Ok, this stamp and die combination "If Snowmen Could Talk," is sure to bring a smile to your face. I adore the little faces you can create and the sentiments are witty. To create this card, I heat embossed a snowflake background using the Snow Day Background stamp and Judikins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. Next, I die cut Sugar Cube cardstock, using the Lattice Cutting Plate, to create the oval base for the snowman's background focal point. Once the oval was die cut and embossed, Salt Water Taffy ink and a blending tool was used to highlight the background. The snowman was stamped, die cut and colored onto Copic-friendly paper. The sentiment called for a few more 'flakes,' so using the Little Bits-Snowflake Confetti I die cut the flakes from glitter paper I had created using the Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder and Sugar Cube cardstock. The sentiment was heat embossed onto vellum and adhered to the card base. A few diamond sparkles and the card is complete.

Card number two features the new Block Party-Christmas Trees die.

The Block Party-Christmas Trees die allow for creative flexibility. For this project, I paired the Block Party-Christmas Trees die with the Spirit of Christmas stamp set to create a winter scene. The Spirit of Christmas stamp adds fun doodles to the Block Party-Christmas Tree die cut. A mix of other stamps and dies help the winter scene come to life. Die cutting 'Joy' from Red Pepper cardstock completes this card.
