Welcome Spring

Hello fellow scrappers and crafters,

Welcome to this week's Just A Scrappin' challenge. The challenge for this week, is to create a circular card using any color and theme. This challenge provided a great opportunity for me to break out of my normal A2 rut. I become so complacent about using the standard card size, that I very rarely try a shaped card design. However, when I do I always think, "Wow, I really should do this more often!"

I created this card with spring in mind, although it is gloomy here in the mid-west. I used Cricut's Wild Card cartridge to create the card base and Nate's ABCs to create my little spring scene. I then paper-pieced the scene to add color and dimension. I completed the card with a little glitter, twine and a die cut button.

Don't forget to stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog and be inspired by the rest of the design team.

Thank you for stopping by.

Smiles,

K

Taylored Expressions: Enjoy The Ride

Happy Tuesday Fellow Crafters and Scrappers,

I hope you have enjoyed Taylored Expressions' March Key Ingredients kit as much as I have. I really enjoyed crafting with this awesome kit. The stamps, dies, embellishments and paper are so versatile and can be used for any occasion.

I created this card using March's Key Ingredients kit and Taylored Expressions' Bikes and Trikes stamp set along with the cloud duo and grass border dies. The color and patterns in Simple Stories, Daily Grind collection, is perfect for any project you have in mind, rather it is bold or subtle in color.

Praying for Friends to Comfort You...

Happy Thursday!

It is time for another Just A Scrappin' Challenge. This week's challenge is about flower power. Flowers are a wonderful embellishment for any project. The Just A Scrappin' design team invite you to create a flower, and not just any flower, but really enjoy embellishing, stacking and inking a bouquet of your choice.

I created my flowers by die cutting various sized petals from 3/4" to 1 1/4" and then stacking them using foam adhesive. This provides a wonderful layered effect. I completed my card with a little twine, layered papers and ink splatters.  Thank you for stopping by today. Do not forget to stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog to check out the other great projects by the design team members.

Enjoy,

Taylored Expressions March Key Ingredients Kit

Happy Monday fellow crafters and scrappers,

What a wonderful way to start the week with crafting inspiration from Taylored Expressions. I have enjoyed designing with March's Key Ingredients Kit. I love the bold colors in Simple Stories' Daily Grind collection and the mix of wooden veneers from Studio Calico. With this week's project, I decided to shake things up a bit, literally. I created my first shaker card by pairing the word bubble pattern paper with the punctuation wood veneers. The versatility of March's kit, along with the coordinating stamp and dies, is just perfect for any occasion.

Are you interested in having inspiration arrive on your doorstep on a monthly basis? Imagine having your paper and embellishments already picked out for you. And, you can take your creativity to the next level with a coordinating stamp and die set! Then the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit is a perfect fit for you.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 142

Happy Sunday fellow crafters and scrappers,

I thought I would get ahead start on my Easter cards this weekend. I popped over to Jen Shultz's blog, Deconstructing Jen, for a little inspiration.  I used sketch no. 142 to create this card. I love all the great layers and bits of embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by.

Unity's Friends With Flair

Hello fellow Unity fans,

I know I am late to the party, but I wanted to share this card I made using Donna Downey's Insightful Meadow stamps. I created this card by first apply gel medium to the Insightful Meadows stamps and stamping my images onto a 3 3/4 x 5 card front. I allowed it to dry then used gelatos to color the card front. I revealed the resist embossed images by removing the excess gelato with a baby wipe. I was not completely satisfied with the design so I used Stampin' Up chalks to add depth and dimension to each flower. I completed the card with a shabby flower and a few bits of twine and ribbon.

Thank you for visiting. Don't forget to check out the other fabulous project on Unity's blog.

Enjoy,

K

Kiss Me I'm Irish...

Hello fellow crafters and scrappers,

The week is almost over and still we are getting crafty at Just-A-Scrappin. This week's challenge is to create a card, project or layout with a St. Patrick's Day theme. Honestly, I do not have a lot of St. Patty's Day themed paper or embellishments in my crafting stash so I thought I would use paper as an embellishment. I decided to create a rainbow using paper and then top it off with a flair badge that I have had since last year. I think it turned out perfect.

Thank you for stopping by. Do not forget to stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog to check out the projects  from the rest of the design team.

Enjoy,

K
