Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends,
Today, I am popping in to share a fun card for my sister's birthday. I love it when crafting leads to accidental inspiration. The Do the Hula (stamp/die combo) has been in my stamp stash for a bit of time, and I have been looking for an opportunity to get it inky. With the release of the new TE Blending Brushes, I thought, "Perfect!"
To create this card, I inked an A2 Sugar Cube panel using Cookie Monster, Fruit Punch, Candy Corn and Lemon Meringue with the TE Blending Brushes. I then embossed the inked panel using TE's gold embossing powder and the Tropical Fronds Background stamp. The cute, little hula girl is colored using Copic markers and colored pencils for deeper shading. The sentiment is embossed on acetate and framed using the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2.
The sentiment inside the card brings the entire card together and ends on a laugh-out-loud moment. And the Happy Birthday sentiment seals the deal, as my sister moves into her 40s and begins to see the effects of aging. Yes, I hope she chuckles when see reads the sentiment. I know I did.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are inspired to step into your craft room and make something beautiful. For more inspiration, visit the Taylored Expressions Blog (HERE).
Happy Crafting,
Keia
