Happy Friday Fellow Crafters and Scrappers,
I hope you are having fun in your craft rooms. I have been faithfully following Kathy Rascoosin, at The Daily Marker, for the 30 Day Color Challenge. The Color Challenge has definitely encouraged me to play with my Copics and new set of Gansai Tambi watercolors. I am enjoying coloring, most of the time. Other times, I feel a little stressed as I am broadening my horizons.
On days eight and 18, Kathy did several cards featuring geometric designs and it inspired me to play with a new stamp that I wanted, but shelved =( So sad. Here is my finished card.
I created this card for my sweet, brother-in-law for his birthday. I first heat embossed several circle images using Essentials By Ellen Bokeh Dots with black Zing embossing powder. Next, I used my watercolor palette to color my circles. I did some light shading here and there, but mainly I was interested in growing my watercoloring skills and learning how to control color saturation. I will write, the red watercolor gave me the most trouble. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills to continue the geometric theme by die cutting my card front and piecing it back together. I then matted the pieced front onto gold metallic paper from Taylored Expressions for a peek-a-boo effect. A stamped sentiment completed my card.
Thank you for stopping by.
Smiles,
K
