Father's Day Inspiration

Hello Fellow crafters and scrappers,

Father's Day is quickly approaching and for once I am on top of my game! Wahoo! Usually, I am scrambling to design and create my Father's Day cards. However, today I am sharing with you a card I created for my sweet husband using Taylored Expressions' All The Fixings stamp and die combination, along with the Pegboard die.

I love checking out Pinterest and Youtube for crafty inspiration. I found this gem of a card design on Youtube, produced by Jackie Topa. Jackie filmed a wonderful tutorial on how to create this type of side step card, which I had not previously seen before. Her card featured a baby's clothing dresser using this side step card design. The card base is comprised of one valley, versus the two valleys I had seen (and made ) previously. I loved the idea of a dresser and thought, "You know, this could work as a masculine card, too, if I turned it into a tool chest." This tool chest is modeled after the one my husband owns, which he received several years ago as a Father's Day gift. The shelf I added to the card, does not allow the card to fold, but I think it adds so much to the overall design. I completed the look by using Taylored Expressions Metallic Neutrals for the tools and chest handles. I distressed the Pegboard die cut to add a little focal interest and completed the look with Philips screw brads. I love the way the card looks and I hope my husband will love it, too! See you back here later this week for another masculine card using the same dies, but different design.

Thank you for stopping by, today!

Smiles,

Keia
