Did you enjoy day 1 of Sneak Peek week? So much creativity, so little time. Well today, you are in for another creative treat featuring the new Stroke of Genius-Stars and Lucy Stars (stamp and die combination).
The Stroke of Genius-Stars stamp set is perfect for patriotic holidays, but it also works nicely to sprinkle your loved ones with a little star dust (think of a cute baby card). To create this card, I used Cherry Pop and Blue Corn dye inks to stamp the various star images onto Sugar Cube card stock. Once that panel was completed, I embossed an A2 size Blue Corn card front using the Lots of Stars embossing folder. To add an extra layer of color and pop, a tri-colored border was created using the TE Summer Nights pattern paper. The Pinhole die set was used to die cut stars from Cherry Pop, Blue Corn and Metallic Neutrals card stock and a Little Bits-Flag acts as the center piece. A sentiment from the Simply Said-4th of July stamp set, stamped on vellum, completed this card.
The second card features the Lucky Stars stamp and die combination set.
To create this card, I cut a piece of Sugar Cube card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/4. Then using the Clarity Stencil Brushes, applied the dye ink colors Potato Chip, Strawberry Milkshake and Salt Water Taffy. After completing the panel, I used the Pinhole Star Stacklets to create a shaker element and assembled as usual. The easiest way to create a variety of colored stars is to use the MISTI. I inked the multi-stared stamp image with Cupcake, Mint Julep, Salt Water Taffy, Potato Chip, and Sprinkles dye ink. Once done, I die cut the images using some stars for this card and saving the extra stars for a later time. Once the card was assembled, it was time to add a sentiment and few enamel shapes for a little extra sparkle.
