Today, I am sharing with you some exciting news...Taylored Expressions now has their own line of premium ink pads! How awesome is that? The new ink pads come in come in 10 premium dye colors: Cherry Pop, Strawberry Milkshake, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Peapod, Granny Smith, Lollipop, Salt Water Taffy, Cookie Monster and Jelly Donut; along with two hybrid colors (perfect for use with Copic markers) Chocolate Truffle and Oreo. All the inks coordinate perfectly with the Taylored Expressions cardstock. The inks pads come in two sizes. The full size is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and the mini pads are 1"x1", which are perfect for traveling to crops =) And like other Taylored Expressions products, the ink pads are made in the USA! Awesomeness!
I had an opportunity to play with the new ink pads using the Spectacular stamp set.
I used the new inkpads to try some of my favorite stamping techniques and was thrilled with the results. The card, Stay Focused A Bright Future Is In Sight, allowed me to use the Taylored Expression Build A Scene-Rolling Clouds die as a stencil. I created a stenciled cloud background using the Water Taffy inkpad. The ink worked like a dream, laying down a smooth layer of colored ink when using the Tim Holtz’ Ink Blending Tool, and the ink provided excellent coverage when dried. The glasses used from the stamp set illustrated how well the inks worked to create clean inked images. Usually, I have difficulty achieving full coverage when stamping a solid stamp image. However, the sun image from the Sunny Days stamp set was inked using the Lemon Meringue ink, and showcased the full coverage provided by the ink without any splotchiness.
