This card was designed using the Deconstructed Sketch No. 101. I like the idea of multiple layers to add depth. Each week the Deconstructed Sketch team is showing me how I can improve my card making techniques. I tend to shy away from layering. I like clean. However, if done correctly, layering is clean, but with the added depth.
My card is mostly created using Crate Paper's "Party Collection" including ephemera with a dash of Authentique, KC&Company and other paper companies. I added a bit of stitching as a finishing touch. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Please stop by Jen's blog for continued inspiration.
Enjoy,
K

Good morning fellow crafters and scrappers,
Welcome to another weekly challenge at Just A Scrappin. This week is anything goes; however, with a color challenge thrown in to keep you on your creative toes. Create a card, layout or 3-D project including the colors green, yellow and orange.
I enjoyed this challenge because it allowed me to highlight some of my favorite bright colors and try out some new crafting materials I have recently purchased. I have been wanting to try October Afternoon's sprinkles and they are fantastic. I will definitely add more to my crafting stash.
I hope you enjoy my card and don't forget to check out the Just A Scrappin' blog to see the projects of the other DT members. You will be glad you did!
Enjoy,
K

This week's Monday Challenge at My Craft Spot is to create an invitation or announcement. This is a fitting challenge since my sister is graduating from San Jose State with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
I am so very proud of her since this journey has not been easy. However, my sister faced each challenge she was presented with, with grace, dignity and fortitude. Always keeping in mind her end goal. So this announcement is in honor of her...for all she has done and for all she has yet to accomplish. Congratulations to you, Monday.
Love,
K

Good morning fellow crafters and scrappers,
Welcome to another challenge at Just A Scrappin'. This week's challenge is to raid your embellishment stash and use chipboard and stitching to embellish your card, layout or project. This challenge is a wonderful opportunity to use some of your embellishments that, if you are like me, are loathe to part with. Or maybe, this a perfect chance to try a new embellishment you have been longing to use.
I tend to hold on to my embellishments with a tight grasp, even though I love looking and adding more to my ever growing collection! In this challenge I used a My Mind's Eye chipboard rose and banner, and completed the look with coordinating jute from American Crafts. Please stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog to view my fellow DT members' projects, layouts and cards. You will be glad you did!
Happy Crafting,
K

Good morning fellow crafters and scrappers,
Happy Thursday! It is time again for another weekly challenge at Just A Scrappin'. This week we are celebrating MOM! And what better way to show you care then to create a card, layout or project for your mom using pink, lavender and a little sparkle.
I created this card for my mom and wanted to make it really special. I utilized multiple layers of paper, embellishments and completed the look with a vintage stick pin and stitching.
Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to visit the Just A Scrappin' blog to check out projects for the other DT members.
Happy Mother's Day!
Enjoy,

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
