Unity's Friends With Flair

Good morning fellow Unity Fans,

Here is my challenge for this week. I created this card for my Bible study sister who moved earlier this week. My dear spiritual sister is a wonderful friend, mentor and mother. She will be greatly missed. I created this card using Unity's "Saying Good-bye is So Hard." I love this stamp and it is so fitting for my dear friend. I also added vellum to soften the bright colors of the pattern paper from American Crafts' Sketchbook 6x6 paper pad. A little stitching, twine and a ribbon flower and the card is complete.  Thank you for stopping by. Please don't forget to view the other wonderful projects on Unity's blog.

Enjoy,

K

Siblings by Chance...

Good morning my crafty friends,

Welcome to another fun challenge from Just A Scrappin'. This week we are perfecting the tag using any color or theme. Can I be honest? Tags scare me to death! You will very rarely see me pulling out a tag and using it on a project. There is just something about that tiny canvas with a hole at the top that has me creatively shaking in my boots. And this challenge was no exception.

I had to think about this challenge for a few days (maybe, secretly I was hoping I had read the challenge incorrectly). Just kidding. I knew I wanted to use the "Siblings by Chance...," stamp from Unity Stamp Co. However, I was not sure just how to use it. In the end, this tag is for my sister and she adores the shabby chic look. With stamp in hand and a particular style in mind, I set about layering on the embellishments. In the end I am happy with the results. So if you are like me, this challenge is perfect for you, too. Go ahead, pull out a tag and let it be your creative canvas.

Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to check out the other wonderful tags from my fellow design team members.

Enjoy,

K

HUGS

Happy Thursday!

I hope you all had an amazing Valentine's Day. I created this gift bag for my little guy, Cooper. It was the night before Cooper's Valentine's Day party at school and he looks at me, before heading off to bed, and says, "Mom, I need a bag or box to hold my Valentine's Day goodies from my friends." Well, what is a mom to do? Easy. Time to hit the craft room! Good thing too, because this week's  Just A Scrappin' challenge is to create a gift bag for a special person in your life. I think my little guy is pretty special.

I started with a standard kraft bag and Cricut's Mini Monster cartridge. I just adore the little monster with the googly eyes. I then added a few die cut banners, twine and glitter hearts. I loved the finished product and so did Cooper.

Please don't forget to stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog to view the other design team members' project.

Enjoy,

K

Unity's Friends with Flair

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am loving my Valentine's Day gift from my hubby. I am not a chocolate and flowers type of girl. I know, I know for the  love of chocolate what is wrong with me? I don't like the taste. And paying a fortune for flowers that will only last for one week…I am too frugal for that. So what is hubby to do? Craft supplies! I have been looking at Farber-Castells' gelatos and asked to have them for Valentine's Day and Patrick delivered. They are awesome! I wonder why I waited so long to give these a try.

I created these two Thank You cards using Donna Downey's Poppies stamp set. The cards utilize a simple design to keep the focus on both the stamped image and the bold colors of the gelatos. The first card was created by heat embossing the outline of the poppies and using gelatos to color the inside of the image. The next card has two heat embossed solid flowers. I used gelatos to color in the white space between the two images and then die cut Thank You to complete my cards.

Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to view the other great projects on Unity's blog.

Happy Valentine's Day,

K

I've fallen in love many time…always with you.

Happy Thursday Fellow Crafters and Scrappers,

Are you ready for Valentine's Day? Only one day left to create a card, layout or project for the special person in your life. For this week's challenge at Just A Scrappin', we are continuing to celebrate Love with a little bit of inking. You read correctly. Time to break out your distress ink pads, paints and/or pens and create something special.

Each year I create a special card for my wonderful husband. This year, I used a new die that has been keeping my crafting drawer warm. Really, this die was a steal! I just had to give it a home. I love how the finished card turned out. I originally felt the typewriter by itself was a little plain. However, after adding a few bits of ephemera and twine it was exactly what I was hoping it would be…the perfect card for my husband.

Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog to see the other wonderful projects from the DT.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Love You FOREVER

Good morning fellow scrappers and crafters,

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. I completed my Valentine's Day collection last week and I am happy with how each card turned out this year. I am really enjoying using a collage of ephemera as the focal point for my cards. For this focal point, I used bits of ephemera from MME, Authentique and a die cut cupid from Cricut's Artbooking  cartridge. The stamped hearts, in the background, and sentiment are from Citrus Twist.  I love how the stamped hearts, two separate stamps, add the perfect touch of bold color to the white paper.

I am linking this card to the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by.

Enjoy,

go to your HAPPY Place

Happy Friday!

I feel like I am on a roll with the rest of the Unity Stamp Co. fans! To date, I have participated in each Friday's Friends with Flair weekly post. Ok, I know the year is still young, but I have to give myself a little creative credit so I can stay pumped for the rest of the month…maybe year =)

I almost didn't have a post for this week, until I remembered a dear friend asked me to create a birthday card for her grandson. My friend's grandson is an avid golfer. The sentiment, from Unity Stamp Co., was a perfect complement for the die cut golf clubs and bag. I then completed the card with a little twine and a few watercolor splatters. Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to view the other fabulous creations using Unity's stamps.

Enjoy,

K

Lovestruck

Happy Thursday!

We have been shut in for the last two days due to the snowstorms that have been pounding the mid-west and east coast. The children are heading back to school tomorrow after a two day respite. We shall see what Friday's weather brings. The severe weather and freezing temperatures might have kept us homebound, but not creatively stunted. During the two day break, I was able to work on my Project Life album, complete more cards for my Valentine's Day collection, and complete a few thank you cards. I am ready…bring on the snow!

This week's Just A Scrappin' challenge is to create a card, project or layout using embossing. I am still in the mood for love, so I created another Valentine's Day card. I recently added a cute heart embossing folder to my collection and thought this would be the perfect time to use it. I completed the card with a few bits of ephemera from Authentique and Recollections. Lastly, I added the cute couple holding hands. Love it! Please stop by the Just A Scrappin' blog to view the other projects.

Enjoy,

K
